Meatballs for Pasta (incomplete)
Ingredients
- Large sausages
- grams Lean ground beef
- Large yellow onion, diced
- Garlic cloves, diced
- grams Bread crumbs
- Flour
- tablespoon Olive oil
- teaspoons Italian spices (oregano, basil, thyme)
- Teaspoon Red chili flakes
- Parmesan cheese
- Large egg
- Crushed tomatoes
- Tomato paste
Instructions
-
1
Add olive oil to a large pot, then sautΓ© onions and garlic over medium heat until onions are soft and translucent. Add half to a separate bowl (for meatballs).
-
2
Remove sausages from casing and add to bowl. Add ground beef, breadcrumbs, 1tbsp Italian spices, a small amount of salt, Parmesan cheese, egg, 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes. Using hands, mix the ingredients together.
Note: Donβt overdo this - some texture in the meat is best
-
3
Pour flour into a separate bowl, to be used for coating the meatballs. Roll the mixture into 4cm balls. After rolling each, roll into the flour so a thin layer covers the meatball.
-
4
Using a large skillet, brown the outside of each meatball over high heat. Ensure each is browned evenly on all sides. The meatballs should be cooked through most of the way, and will be finished when added to the simmering pasta sauce.
